Download the new The Look Book to help plan your meeting

Chapel Hill, NC, (February 24, 2022) -- A lot has changed in the local hospitality industry in the past two years.

Many conferences, weddings, reunions, and corporate board meetings were postponed. According to the Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau this sector of the tourism industry is on the move again. Weddings that were cancelled are being rebooked for spring. Corporate board meetings are inquiring about space. And fraternal and business gatherings are asking about meetings options.

In preparation, the Visitors Bureau has created a new Facility and Meeting Planning Guide. The 2022 edition is on-line now and provides vital details on Chapel Hill and Orange County’s meeting and event venues that will assist planners in organizing their upcoming event.

This guide is being dubbed, “The Look Book,” and is designed to help meeting and event planners with the information they need to organize their meeting, including local hotels and meeting space, specifications at each facility, as well as gathering ideas and information about our communities.

“Bringing meetings and events to Orange County provides an economic boost to our local economy,” says Marlene Barbera, Director of Sales for the Visitors Bureau. “Adaptability is the key word we use when we talk about events in 2022. The world is ever changing, and event planners and venues need to be ready to change their plans in an instant,” said Barbera.

Barbara said one trend we will continue to see in 2022 is hybrid events. Sometimes travel restrictions, local restrictions, or a person’s comfort level will keep them from attending an in-person event. Although difficult, planners need to be ready to quickly change their event to hybrid if the need is evident. 2022 will be another year of adaptability for both planners and venues.
